It just kind of happened. I’d been enjoying the raiding, and had started taking a bit more responsibility in terms of running the healing assignments.  My guild were regularly clearing Naxx10, and could pretty much clear Naxx25. With the 3.1 patch we headed in to Ulduar10, and started making good progress.

And then it just stopped being fun. And I can’t work out if it’s me, or if it’s Ulduar. But at the moment I don’t feel any motivation to raid at all.

I’ve been enjoying the Argent Tournament, and have managed to gain my “Crusader” title. And I’ve been running a lot of Heroics with a group of friends, which is a blast. Scarily I’m now predominantly a Moonkin, and starting to feel like I’m making a useful dps contribution. In fact, I thought I might be needed to heal the group on one occaision recently, and felt quite disappointed. What a turnaround!

I’m also dabbling around with a small troop of alts, but haven’t really set my heart on any perticular one to take to 80. I’ve got a Rogue, Mage and Warlock all sitting at 44 (thank you, Recruit-a-Friend), a 61 DK, and a very low level Priest and Shaman. The Big Red Kitty baby hunter guide videos on ProjectLore inspired me to start a Hunter, and she’s really fun.

I’m certainly still finding plenty of things to keep me busy. And I’m not missing the raiding at all. At the moment. I don’t know if it’s me, or if it’s Ulduar. And it’s not bad. It’s just different

I did most of them, including shelling out the gold for an epic flying mount, having discovered that I needed one to complete the Ogrila achievement. However, it was the requirement for a PvP achievment that was the show stopper for me. I don’t like PvP. I forced myself into two Battlegrounds to get my “Spirit of Competition” pet. I ran two or three to complete my “The Hallowed” title. But 50 honor kills in a gnome costume? When being a gnome seems to make you the number one target to the opposition? And you lose the effect on death and either have to AFK out and twiddle your thumbs for 15 minutes before trying again, or have to complete the battleground without it counting towards your achievement at all. It’s a waste of my time. And it’s not fun. So I didn’t do it.

I also never got the Santa hat, so missed out on another achievement there. I’ve had no time to run any instances recently anyway, and I didn’t want to bug my Guild to run The Nexus for me to get the hat. I’d rather do stuff I can achieve on my own, without having to ask for help.

I also never dressed as a snowman and danced in Dalaran. But I do have my disguise kit, as does my husband, so I could get that one any time I wanted.

Renata on the World of Warcast podcast came up with a great idea. She suggested the seasonal achievements should grant the title if you gain a subset of the required achievements. So, if for example there are 15 achievements in total for Winter’s Veil, completing any 13 should give you the title. I think this is a great idea. It means if you really don’t want to PvP, or don’t satisfy the requirements for a couple of the achievements, you can still gain yourself the title. I’d really like to see that implemented, because it looks like Blizzard have put a PvP requirement in all the seasonal collections, and they don’t seem to get any easier.

• Stockpile enough herbs to level inscription to 375 when the 3.0.2 patch hits
• Level my Recruit-A-Friend Mage and Warlock pair to 60 (they’re currently 37)
• Clear out and sort my bank
• Clear out and sort my AH mule
• Switch back to Auctioneer and start regular AH scans
• Finish leveling my fishing to 375 (currently 366)
• Gain my “Champion of the Naaru” title (just need Magtheridon)

My husband has started playing Warhammer recently, and is really enjoying it. I have never enjoyed PvP and so Warhammer has never appealed to me, but the part of me that enjoys running around virtual worlds with him keeps popping up and suggesting I give it a quick try. So when I next get that feeling I am going to return here and remind myself of the list of things I still want to achieve in WoW over the next month.
